According to the Guardian, Indian authorities have managed to convince Yahoo and Microsoft to limit their search engines and now prohibit the countries internet users from searching for adult sexual content or pornographic material online .

The Microsoft Bing and Yahoo search engines use advanced filtering techniques to block access in India to adult material after recent changes to a law that criminalizes the publication of porn.

Indian users of Bing are told "your country or region requires a strict Bing Safe Search setting, which filters out results that might return adult content," according to the investigation published in The Guardian.

Yahoo search and Yahoo-owned photo-sharing site Flickr also are blocking access to adult material by preventing Indian users from turning off the safe-search feature. The same restrictions are given to users in Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea.

The changes seem to have been prompted by India's Information Technology Act of 2000. This piece of legislation is based on a 150-year-old statute and it prohibits publication of pornographic material online.

Under the new law, ISPs and Internet café operators are obligated to exercise due diligence and disable access to any content which goes against the act. Failure to do so carries a three-year jail sentence and a fine about £6,000.

PornoTube.com has announced new additions to the site's current lineup of channels.

Now available among PornoTube's offerings is the VCX channel, dedicated to the adult classics filmed during the golden age of porn. Kink.com has also gained a channel presence, featuring its unique brand of hardcore fetish action.

Other new additions include a channel from Vivid Entertainment, and a channel showcasing shemale content.

The existing channel for AEBN's VOD Awards also has been updated with content from the nominees from the 2010 Awards.

UK female actress Billie Piper is to meet the real-life prostitute who inspired her role in Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

Dr Brooke Magnanti ended years of speculation by outing herself as the real Belle de Jour last month.

Her blogs and books inspired the ITV2 drama starring Billie Piper.

Billie Piper told TV Biz: "I have always been fascinated by the real Belle de Jour and I read everything about Brooke when she decided to 'come out'.

"It will be so interesting to meet her. I think everyone's fascinated to a certain degree about prostitution."

Their real-life encounter will be filmed for a documentary, Billie and the Call Girl Bare All, to be shown on ITV2 in the New Year.
Dr Magnanti said the programme would provide an insight into the "real woman" behind the alter ego.
