The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has just released a new video featuring CEO Joan Irvine being interviewed on the Channel 8 News in Washington D.C. on May 29, 2008. The interview is now available on youtube and can be seen on the clip below .
Last month Irvine travelled to Washington to help kick off Internet Safety Month with a press conference at the National Press Club. Stormy Daniels, contract performer, writer and director with Wicked Pictures, and Joy King, Vice President of Special Projects for Wicked Pictures also participated in the press conference which highlighted the success of the RTA “Restricted to Adults” website label. After the press conference Irvine was interviewed on News Channel 8 where she discussed the efforts by the adult entertainment industry to protect children from age-inappropriate content online
“Many people believe that the adult entertainment industry wants corrupt children, not protect them,” said Irvine. “ASACP has worked diligently to let people know that is simply not the case, being interviewed on News Channel 8 helped me to share that message with viewers throughout the D.C. area.”
In the interview, Irvine also discussed the Parental Control Bar. The Parental Control Bar is a free online software developed by the Website Rating and Advisory Council (WRAAC) that helps concerned parents prevent their children from accessing adult-oriented websites. WRAAC co-sponsored the press conference.
Also available for viewing on ASACP’s YouTube Channel are highlights from the 2007 RTA Press Conference and public service announcements (PSA) which were produced by ASACP and feature Stormy Daniels. A video featuring highlights from the 2008 RTA Press Conference will be released later this year.
Founded in 1996, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating child pornography from the Internet. ASACP battles child pornography through its CP reporting hotline, and by organizing the efforts of the online adult industry to combat the heinous crime of child sexual abuse. ASACP also works to help parents prevent children from viewing age-inappropriate material online. For more information, go to www.asacp.org or www.RTAlabel.org .
In an effort to save drowning ratings for the latest Big Brother series, Channel Ten announced yesterday that Pamela Anderson would be the next contestant to enter the Big Brother household.
The Playboy bunny, actress and serial-marriage offender will appear in two episodes in the Gold Coast compound, a two-hour special on July 9 and a one-hour show on July 10. News of the celebrity arrival started to circulate yesterday when an amended programming timetable was sent to television writers, detailing Pamela Anderson's appearance on the show and forcing Ten's publicity department to issue a hasty press release.
Pamela Anderson last visited Australia in 2006 on a promotional tour for a chocolate snack.
A spokeswoman for the network said ” further details of Anderson's activities in the house were yet to be finalised, including if she plans to stay the night”.
The Canadian-born actress, who turns 41 next month and rose to fame in television shows such as Baywatch and on screen movies like Barbwire and is now currently working on her own reality series.
Her arrival is the latest stunt by Ten to save the beleaguered Big Brother series, which is still suffering from dismal ratings. The gay style icon Carson Kressley and the British hypnotist Peter Powers have been in the house this season and this Sunday the show will see the return of midget belly-dancer Rima, who had to leave the house in May after she broke her leg in Friday night games.
